How do I reopen an overdue requirement for a worker?

When a worker misses the due date for a requirement, the requirement is automatically marked as overdue, and the worker shows as non-compliant. This guide walks you through reopening overdue requirements, whether you're resolving a single requirement or several at once.

What You'll Need:

  • Administrator access to your Kinatico Compliance account

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Locate the Overdue Requirements

  • Select My Actions from the main navigation
  • Select the Workers tab
  • Select the Escalations tab
  • Select the Overdue button to filter the list
  • Find the overdue requirement or requirements you want to reopen

To reopen a single requirement:

  • Select the three dots on the overdue requirement
  • Select Resolve from the dropdown menu

To reopen multiple requirements at once:

  • Select the checkbox next to each requirement you want to reopen.
  • Select Resolve (with comment) in the selection bar that appears

Step 2: Reopen the Requirement

  • In the Resolve popup, click the Select dropdown under Resolve, then select Remind
  • In the comment field enter a clear reason for reopening the requirement
  • Select Submit to process the action
  • Select Confirm when prompted to verify you want to reopen the requirement

💡 Pro Tip: Under Notifications in the main navigation you'll get notified if a requirement becomes Overdue. From the notification you can select Review Now and then Resolve (with comment) to jump straight to Step 2.

💡 Pro Tip: If you have several overdue requirements to reopen with the same reason, bulk select all of them using the checkbox next to Requirement name and resolve them together in a single action, rather than repeating Step 1 and Step 2 for each one individually.

What Happens After Reopening?

For the Worker:

  • The requirement becomes accessible again for completion
  • They receive a notification that the requirement has been reopened
  • No new due date is set, allowing flexible completion

For Administrators:

  • The worker remains marked as non-compliant until a response has been submitted
  • The requirement status updates to reflect the Reminded state

Common Questions

Q: Will reopening a requirement change the worker's compliance status immediately? A: No, the worker will remain marked as non-compliant until they successfully complete and submit the reopened requirement.

Q: Can I set a new due date when reopening a requirement? A: The reopen process doesn't set a new due date. The requirement will remain open until completed or manually closed by an administrator.

Q: Can I reopen more than one requirement at once? A: Yes. Select the checkboxes next to each Requirement you want to reopen, then select Resolve (with comment) to action them together, rather than resolving each one individually.
