What documents are accepted for Biometrically Enhanced ID verification?
To complete a Biometrically Enhanced ID verification in the Kinatico Compliance app, you'll need to provide identification documents from three categories: a Commencement document, a Primary document, and a Secondary document. If your name has changed since any of these documents were issued, you may also need to provide Change of Name or Linkage evidence.
Commencement documents
You must provide one of the following:
- Australian Passport (front only)
- Australian Birth Certificate, full version (front only)
- Australian Citizenship Certificate (front and back)
- Australian Visa, paired with an International Passport (front only). This combination also satisfies your Primary document requirement.
- ImmiCard (front only)
Primary documents
You must provide one of the following:
- Australian Driver Licence, including learner and provisional (front and back)
- Australian Passport, if not already used as your Commencement document (front only)
- International Passport with an Australian Visa (front only). This combination also satisfies your Commencement document requirement.
- Proof of Age or photo identity card (front only)
- ImmiCard, if not already used as your Commencement document (front only)
Secondary documents
You must provide one of the following:
- Medicare card (front only)
- Centrelink card (front only)
- DVA card (front only)
- Certificate of Identity, issued by DFAT (front only)
- UN Convention Travel Document, issued by DFAT (front only)
- Aviation Security Identification Card, ASIC (front only)
- Maritime Security Identification Card, MSIC (front only)
- Security guard or crowd control photo licence (front and back)
- Police Force photo identity card (front only)
- Defence Force photo identity card (front only)
- Photo ID card, such as a Working With Children Check or occupational licence (front only)
- Firearms or shooters licence (front only)
- Certified academic transcript from an Australian university (front only)
- Credit reference check (front only)
- Trusted referees report (2 pages)
- Tax File Number, provided as an ATO Tax Assessment notice (front only)
Change of Name and Linkage documents
If any of your documents were issued under a different name, you'll need to provide evidence linking your identities. Accepted evidence includes:
- A Marriage Certificate issued by an Australian state or territory Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
- A Change of Name Certificate issued by an Australian state or territory Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
Certificates issued by a celebrant or a church are not accepted. You can provide up to five linking documents.

Q: I'm under 18 and don't have a driver licence. What can I use instead?
A: Check with your organisation's System Admin about which Primary document options apply to your situation.
Q: What happens if I don't have a valid document from one of these categories?
A: Contact your organisation's System Admin, who can advise on alternative arrangements.
