How do I export the Audit Log on Kinatico Compliance?

The Audit Log lets you export a record of activity across your organisation as a file, so you can keep it for your records or share it during audits and investigations.

What You'll Need:

  • Administrator access
  • At least one entry in the Audit Log within your selected date range

Time Required: 2 minutes

Instructions

Step 1: Open the Audit Log

  • From the left navigation, select Audit Log

Step 2: Narrow down the entries you want (optional)

  • Select a preset date range: 12 months, 30 days, 7 days, or 24 hours
  • Or select Select Date Range and choose a custom start and end date using the calendar pickers
  • Use the Search bar to find entries by keyword
  • Select Filters to narrow entries further
  • Select Columns to choose which columns display in the table

📌 Note: Your export reflects whatever date range, filters, and search terms are currently applied to the table. If you don't apply any, your export includes every entry in the Audit Log.

Step 3: Select Export

  • Select Export in the top right corner of the page

Step 4: Confirm the report details

  • A dialog opens explaining that your report can include up to 50,000 entries, with any additional records generated as a separate file
  • Enter a file name using letters and numbers only, or confirm the file name shown
  • Select Export (or Export CSV) to proceed

💡 Pro Tip: You can keep working while your report runs in the background. You'll receive a notification once it's ready to download.

Step 5: Download your report

  • Once you receive your notification, open it to download the exported CSV report

  • Store your exported Audit Log securely as part of your audit trail
  • Cross-reference exported entries against your Insights reports for a fuller compliance picture
  • Re-export ahead of scheduled audits or investigations

Common Questions

Q: Is exporting the Audit Log itself recorded?

A: Yes. Exporting creates its own entry in the Audit Log, so there's a record of who requested the export and when.
