How do I add scoring to a Kinatico Compliance Build Your Own Requirement?

Adding scoring to a build your own requirement allows you to turn any requirement into a quiz or assessment with predefined correct answers. Define the correct answer for each field and Kinatico Compliance will automatically grade people's responses. You can set a minimum score required to complete a requirement. When this isn't met, it can either be flagged to an admin or sent back to the person immediately to reattempt.

Before You Start

What You'll Need:

  • Administrator access to the Kinatico Compliance portal
  • A Build your own requirement with at least one form page already created

Time required: 3 min

Instructions

Step 1: Set your requirement type to Advanced

  • In your build your own requirement, navigate to the Behaviour section and locate the field "What type of requirement are you creating?". Ensure this is set to Advanced Requirement.

Step 2: Enable scoring on a field

  • From the requirement, click Edit Form on the page you want to add scoring to.
  • Click on the field you want to score (e.g. a yes/no question such as "Do you hold a valid and current first aid certificate?").
  • In the field's Properties, locate the Condition section.
  • Toggle on Enable Scoring.

Step 3: Input the correct worker response

  • An Expected Value field will appear, select the correct answer (e.g. Yes, to indicate the worker does hold a first aid certificate).
  • Optional: Assign a point value to this field. The default is 1 point.
  • When you've finished adding the scoring to the page fields, click Save to save the page.

Step 4: Set the minimum score and retry behaviour

Once scoring has been added to your fields, return to the Advanced Requirement settings.

  • Locate Set the minimum score required and enter your threshold (e.g. 1 out of a possible 1). You must set a minimum score.
  • Optional: Toggle on Allow Retry on Fail to prevent workers from submitting the requirement until they meet the minimum score (e.g. a worker cannot complete the requirement unless they confirm they hold a valid first aid certificate).

Step 5: Publish your changes

  • Click Next, then Publish to save and apply your scoring configuration to the requirement.

What happens when a worker submits a response that doesn't meet the minimum score?

If "Allow Retry on fail" is toggled ON

The worker is immediately told they haven't met the minimum score to complete the requirement, and they have to reattempt the requirement.

If "Allow Retry on fail" is toggled OFF

All Advanced Requirements go to an admin to review the response (under My Actions>Escalations>For Review). When the admin looks at the Requirement Details page they'll be told immediately whether the person passed scoring, and they can Resolve the response by selecting either:

  • Not Accepted: Making the response and worker profile Non-Compliant
  • Accepted: Making the response compliant
  • Resend: Sending the requirement back to the worker to reattempt

Example of a requirement response that didn't meet the minimum score (the admin marked as Not Accepted)

Recommended next steps:

  • Assign the scored requirement to workers in your People Directory to begin collecting graded responses.
