What is a Monitored Activity?
A monitored activity is a verification that Kinatico Compliance automatically re-runs at regular intervals, ensuring your organisation maintains continuous, up-to-date visibility over your people — without any manual effort on your part.
Rather than completing a one-time verification and moving on, monitored activities work quietly in the background, alerting you when something changes so you can act swiftly and confidently.
How Monitored Activities Work
Certain activities are monitored by default. To start monitoring a verification, assign it to a user as a one-off activity, and depending on your plan it will automatically be monitored on a pre-configured frequency.
When a monitored activity is assigned to a user, Kinatico Compliance will:
- Complete the initial verification
- Automatically re-run the verification at a set frequency (e.g. monthly)
- Notify you on the Insights>Monitoring page has changed (compared to the previous set of results), is a credential has expired or is expiring in the next 30 days
This means you'll always know if a credential has expired or is a set of results have changed — without having to manually review every set of results or re-assign activities.
⚠️Monitored activities collect information once from mobile app users, and re-runs the verification each time using that same information. If you want a monitored activity to run using new information from the mobile app user, you need to manually assign the activity to the individual.

Which Activities are Monitored?
The following verifications automatically perform monitoring on the following plans:

How are Monitored Activities charged?
Depending on your plan and its inclusions, the cost of monitoring is included in your plan subscription. Once an activity is assigned and a single response collected, Kinatico monitors it on your behalf, at no additional charge, for the duration of your plan.
Where additional costs may apply is when you manually assign an activity to a user to collect a new response. Depending on your plan and its inclusions, this may incur a one-off add-on fee.
For example:
The Premium plan includes one AML verification per user per year, monitored monthly. When you assign an AML activity to a user for the first time, there is no charge, and the ongoing monthly monitoring continues at no cost.
However, if six months later you need to collect updated information from that user (for example, they have changed their name), you would need to manually assign a new AML activity to them. This triggers a one-off add-on fee of $39 AUD (inc. GST). Once that new response is collected, monthly monitoring resumes at no additional charge.
Common Questions
Q: What is the difference between a monitoring and activity repetition? A: Monitoring means Kinatico Compliance automatically re-runs a verification at a set frequency using the user's existing information, no action required from them. Results are flagged under Insights > Monitoring and is hardcoded to occur on specific activities on specific plans.
Repetition controls how often a user is asked to complete the activity and submit a new response. It also determines how often your organisation is invoiced for that activity. Note that setting an activity to repeat does not affect whether it appears in the Insights > Monitoring tab, this is determined by the activity type and subscription plan.
For most monitoring eligible activities, admins set Repetition to One-off. The user completes the activity once, and Kinatico Compliance handles ongoing monitoring automatically.
Q: Can I alter the frequency of a monitored activities verification? A: No. In the near future we will allow admins to configure the frequency of their monitored activities.
Q: Can I stop an activity from being monitored? A: Not if you assign the activity and it's included in your plan. In the near future we will allow admins to configure whether they want an activity to be monitored.
Q: Can I monitor activities other that those included in our plan? A: No. In the near future we will allow admins to monitor any type of Kinatico Compliance activity.
